Track Two - The Human Costs of Digital and Digitally-Facilitated Child Sex Abuse
Once we have shared the lay of the land on children being victimized online or with the assistance of digital technology, we need to understand the human costs. In this track you will hear from two mothers who lost their teen daughters to suicide following their sextortion and digital broadcast of their rape. You will hear from psychiatrists and mental health professionals and teens.
LEAH PARSONS
Leah is a grief counselor and works with mindfulness to help parents heal from a tragic loss. She came to this following her own tragic loss of her teen daughter Rehtaeh to suicide after her rape and broadcasting of images of her rape online.
CAROL TODD
Carol is an educator for special needs youth. Since the suicide of her daughter Amanda following her sextortion by a child predator from the Netherland, Carol has been a vocal advocate for mental health awareness.
DR. FARAZ MOHAMMED
Faraz is a board-certified psychiatrist and specializes in child and adolescent psychiatry. He is seeking digital-related mental health issues every day. He is a leader in our Cyberwellness program.
